Kamora Porter

Kamora Porter is a junior at Emory University, where she is double majoring in African American Studies and Political Science. While at Emory, she has had the opportunity to assist Dr. Kiela Crabtree, an Assistant Professor of Political Science, with her research on Bridging Racial Violence, specifically detecting and coding articles for racial violence. She has recently begun serving as Community Service Chair for Emory’s NAACP. With her double major, Kamora is interested in examining the ways in which Black individuals and marginalized communities exist in relation to systems of government. She is also interested in nonprofit/advocacy work, housing and education policy, and electoral politics and is excited to explore her interest, among other issues, with the Imagining Democracy Lab.
