Accessibility and Assistance
Accommodations for Voters with Disabilities:
- Polling places must be accessible, and accommodations include wheelchair-accessible booths, magnifying devices, and accessible voting machines. Voters can also request curbside voting if unable to enter the polling place.
Requesting Assistance:
- Voters can request assistance from poll workers or bring a person of their choice, except employers or union representatives, to assist in marking their ballot.
Addressing Voter Challenges
Handling Issues at Polling Places:
- Voters should report issues such as long lines or malfunctioning machines to poll workers and, if unresolved, to the county election office or the Georgia Secretary of State’s office.
Reporting Voter Intimidation or Suppression:
- Incidents should be reported immediately to the election protection hotline (866-OUR-VOTE) and documented for potential legal action. Voters can also file complaints with the DOJ’s Voting Section.
