Tyler Martinez
Tyler Martinez is a junior at Emory University, majoring in African American Studies. As a passionate advocate for social justice, Tyler is dedicated to fostering a campus in which underrepresented voices can thrive. Tyler currently serves as the President of the Belonging & Community Council (BCC), an Executive Agency under the Student Government Association (SGA). In this role, Tyler is dedicated to advocating for, funding, and representing student organizations that uplift marginalized communities, particularly through the creation of safe and inclusive spaces on campus. He also serves as the 2nd Vice President of the Emory NAACP chapter, where he aims to engage the campus in civic participation and emphasize the importance and privileges of democracy, particularly among students of color as we enter such a critical election period. Tyler aims to bridge academia and activism, fostering a sense of belonging for marginalized students—a mission he plans to continue in a career in Student Affairs in Higher Education.
